About

At SpellStrong, we believe that communication is a fundamental human right.

Every individual deserves the opportunity to express their thoughts, share their ideas, build relationships, and fully participate in the world around them. We are committed to helping make that possible for nonspeaking and minimally speaking individuals through respectful, evidence-informed communication support.

Our approach is rooted in the principles of Spelling to Communicate (S2C)™, with a focus on developing the purposeful motor skills needed for reliable communication. We recognize that many nonspeaking individuals understand far more than they are able to demonstrate through speech or inconsistent motor abilities. By presuming competence, providing meaningful instruction, and meeting each learner where they are, we create an environment where students can grow in confidence, independence, and self-expression.

Our mission is to empower nonspeaking communicators to build reliable pathways to self-expression, meaningful connection, and greater independence. Every voice matters, every individual deserves to be heard, and we are honored to walk alongside our students and their families as they discover the power of communication.

Carrie Honoré is a certified Spelling to Communicate (S2C)™ practitioner and an experienced educator. Her passion for supporting nonspeaking individuals is both professional and deeply personal.

After witnessing the life-changing impact S2C™ had on her own nonspeaking son, Carrie felt called to become a certified practitioner so she could help other individuals discover their voices and unlock their potential. She is committed to creating a supportive, respectful learning environment where students can develop purposeful motor skills that foster reliable communication, increased independence, and meaningful participation in their communities.

Carrie believes that every person deserves the opportunity to communicate and be heard. She is honored to partner with families as they navigate their communication journey, celebrating each student's unique strengths and progress along the way.

When she isn't working with students, Carrie is a homeschooling solo mom to three teenage boys. She enjoys quilting, reading, hiking, and spending quality time with her family.
